Job Description:
White Mountain Paper Company is hiring an Associate to assist
with financial planning, analysis, and special projects. This
versatile new role will work closely with the CEO and VP Finance.
White Mountain is one of the oldest paper mills in North America
and a storied part of New Hampshire's North Country. Its new
private equity owners have an aggressive plan to invest,
reposition, and ultimately grow this facility. We'll be making some
of the most sustainable and competitive towels, facial tissues, and
toilet paper in the market.About the role:The Associate will be an
integral part of the mill's success and modernization. You will be
involved in a multi-million transformation, working across the
organization to help the CEO and the Board make informed decisions
based on rigorous analysis and reporting. For the right candidate,
there will be room to grow. We are open to a flexible working
arrangement, providing the Associate can be on-site in Gorham, NH
at least twice weekly. You should be within driving distance:
Portland, ME or Concord, NH could make sense.What you'll be working
on:* FP&A: collect information, derive and track metrics,
produce reports, and conduct financial analysis* Business planning:
support the annual business planning and budgeting process and
track and report on progress and metrics* Help tell our story:
create presentations for the CEO to use with the Board, partners,
customers, and other stakeholders* "Quarterback" a range of special
projects: this could involve building a hedging model,
standardizing variance reports, selecting new vendors, calculating
the ROI on a capital investment, etc.Required skills and
experience:* Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in
finance, management consulting, accounting, or a related area* A
demonstrable history of high achievement* A practitioner's
understanding of accounting and corporate finance principles (CPA
not required)* Experience conducting financial analysis and
building both routine and ad hoc reports* Ability to manage
projects involving multiple stakeholders* Strong communication
skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint* Bonus
points: experience in an industrial or manufacturing businessThe
right candidate will be:* Self-motivated and able to get things
done in an unstructured workday* Loyal to his or her commitments,
always sure to track next steps and follow through* Detail-oriented
and very organized* Intellectually curiousBenefits:* $60k to 70k
salary, commensurate with experience, plus annual bonus
