Job Description:
Payroll / Accounting Specialist We are seeking a detail-oriented
Payroll / Accounting Specialist to join our non-profit
organization. This role is responsible for processing multi-state
payroll using Paylocity, ensuring compliance with federal, state,
and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with
HR and Finance teams to maintain accurate payroll records, resolve
discrepancies, and provide excellent support to employees regarding
payroll matters. Key Responsibilities of the Payroll/ Accounting
Specialist: The Payroll Specialist / Accounting will process and
administer multi-state payroll using Paylocity for all employees,
ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations. Maintain and
update payroll records, including employee earnings, deductions,
benefits, and tax withholdings. Ensure timely processing of payroll
cycles, including off-cycle payments, garnishments, and other
payroll adjustments. Generate and send invoices in a timely and
accurate manner Monitor income payments, apply cash receipts, and
reconcile AR accounts regularly Assist with payroll tax reporting
and compliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local
laws. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes including
journal entries and reconciliations Address payroll-related
inquiries from employees and provide support on pay discrepancies,
direct deposits, and tax forms. Generate and review payroll reports
for accuracy and reconciliation with financial records. Preferred
Qualifications of the Payroll / Accounting Specialist: 2 years of
payroll processing experience Proficiency with Paylocity or similar
payroll software is required. Strong understanding of multi-state
payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability
to handle confidential information with discretion.
