Job Description Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Kennebunk, Maine. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, preparing comprehensive reports, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and a commitment to excellence in financial operations. Responsibilities: • Record and reconcile financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. • Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and ensure accurate coding and approval procedures. • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties, including tracking income, expenses, and utility bills. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. • Generate timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. • Conduct audits to verify compliance with accounting standards and company policies. • Assist with regulatory reporting and tax filings, ensuring all deadlines are met. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. • Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth financial workflows. • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills. • Experience with sales tax, journal entries, and general ledger management. • Skilled in bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical financial practices.
