Job Description Job Description Our client, a growing manufacturing company near Brookfield, IL, is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to support their purchasing and supply chain operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys vendor interaction, and is eager to grow their procurement career within a dynamic production environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in sourcing materials, supplies, and components to support daily production needs. Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery schedules. Communicate with vendors regarding lead times, backorders, shipment status, and product availability. Monitor inventory levels and work with the production team to anticipate purchasing needs. Evaluate vendor quotes and provide recommendations based on cost, quality, and reliability. Support cost-saving initiatives and participate in supplier performance analysis. Maintain purchasing records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company guidelines. Collaborate with internal teams (operations, warehouse, logistics) to resolve discrepancies or supply delays. Qualifications 2 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or administrative experience preferred. Manufacturing industry experience is a plus but not required. Strong Excel skills; ability to learn ERP or purchasing systems quickly. Excellent communication, organization, and vendor-facing professionalism. Detail-driven with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
