EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s): Bachelor’s degree in
business administration or related field is required. EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in an aerospace/defense or
equivalent regulatory contracting environment is required. Strong
hands-on knowledge of, and experience with, FAR/ DFAR/CAS/ and
export regulations. Ability to negotiate and close on efforts
requiring Current Cost or Pricing Data and Truthful Cost or Pricing
Data (formerly TINA) certification. General knowledge of DOD
policies and practices is essential. Working knowledge/familiarity
with OTAs Strong knowledge of intellectual property and policies.
Experience with agreements to support business development, program
management and engineering development teams (ex. NDAs, bailment
agreements, etc.). Experience dealing with the US Government,
foreign governments, and major industry defense & electronics
companies, as your customer. For professional growth and

become an independent, take-charge, self-starter able to identify
gaps or issues, develop solutions, and implement changes as needed
with minimal oversight. ABOUT THE JOB! The Contracts Principal will
work with internal teammates and external customers to shape and
close business opportunities in concert with Gentex Corporation
leadership objectives. Specifically in this role, the
responsibilities will include but not be limited to working
alongside other contract professionals actively supporting numerous
government and international contracts as well as ongoing proposal
activities. Duties will include among others, helping in
development/refinement of processes and procedures relating to
contract review and administration, administration of contracts at
locations across the enterprise, interface with the U.S. and
international Governments in both written and oral communications,
and ensuring flow down of contractual obligations and processes
within the organization. Gentex offers a robust benefit package-

RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares, administers, manages, oversees reviews
and negotiates contractual agreements, amendments, and documents
for commercial and government customers, both foreign and domestic,
in support of new and recurring business proposals and contracts
within company guidelines and processes under the guidance of the
Contracts Manager. Reviews Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for
Proposals (RFPs), and Market Surveys, including Terms and
Conditions, Past Performance Information, and Proposal Summaries as
required by management on a case-by-case basis. Serves as primary
contracts POC to customer for multiple programs. Expected to travel
to meet with customers and other key stakeholders. Responsible for
coordination of major program meeting audits (i.e., post-Award
meetings, audits, etc.) and delivery commitments. Responsible for
updating and maintaining Gentex Corporation information in various
government databases. Proactively manages and maintains positive
customer relationships. Positive role model to fellow team members
in developing and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Provides proposal development/response and negotiations support.
Handles change management, problem resolution, disputes,
terminations, and contract close-out for contracts. Seeks out
training opportunities to improve knowledge of U.S. government and
international contract requirements. Assists as required to
develop, implement, and audit enterprise-wide policies and
procedures relating to the contracts area, including risk
mitigation, compliance, governance, and administration. Escalates
issues, as appropriate, within internal escalation paths.
Identifies ongoing process improvements and helps lead
implementation. Is a liaison in the organization between
departments to close gaps between written procedures and execution.
Helps lead remediation efforts in this area, if needed. Monitors
performance on contracts, and audits to ensure compliance
throughout the enterprise. Prepares and issues periodic reports,
statements and plans regarding essential activity relating to
customers, the business and the company’s financial interest. Work
with corporate accounting/finance function on contract pricing,
auditing, funding, invoicing, and payment issues. Participates in
internal and customer business management reviews focused on
contractual issues. Provides guidance to program teams on the
contractual implications of various activities including quality,
production, shipping, communication, paperwork, etc. Leads ad hoc
projects on a case-by-case basis, as requested by leadership.
Support continued implementation of SAP. Schedule flexibility to
support critical deadlines may be required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND
ABILITIES: Be able to adapt to a variety of business situations,
quickly identify and address critical issues, and influence
business decisions. Possess excellent communication and
interpersonal skills (both written and oral). Be comfortable and
willing to work with cross-functional teams. Be self-motivated, and
able to work independently but also collaboratively with a large
group of personnel across the enterprise. Be able to work
efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple tasks
in a fast-paced environment. Be pro-active and ethical, with the
ability to support corporate goals in a complex regulatory and
multi-national corporate environment. Have good computer skills,
including experience with Microsoft programs. Experience with SAP
is a plus. Be capable of obtaining a secret security clearance. Is
customer-centric and possesses a hungry, humble and smart attitude.
