Job Description:

Fair Dermody Consulting Engineers is looking for a motivated candidate to support a small team in producing professional, economical, and commonsense plans and specifications for railroad bridge repair and design projects.

Responsibilities:
Interpret existing bridge plans (dating up to 125 years old)
Draft existing conditions of steel, concrete, and timber railroad bridges
Work closely with engineers to draft proposed conditions for bridge rehabilitation projects (mostly 2D drawings)
Generate bill of materials
Create final deliverables for railroad bridge repair/replacement projects for review by a Professional Engineer

Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in CAD
Strong experience in AutoCAD LT
1+ Years experience in structural drafting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Skills/Abilities Desired:
Detailing of structural steel and reinforced concrete
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
Experience with arcGIS for asset management purposes a plus
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
