understanding, and learning from each other. Summary Description:
Buckingham Browne & Nichols School is seeking a full-time Upper
School Science teacher. We are seeking a knowledgeable Science
teacher to teach four science classes, who values student voice and
agency, utilizes a variety of pedagogical approaches, can work
independently, and is excited to work as part of a team in
curriculum development. Upper School Science teachers are expected
to be able to teach at least two of our foundational science
classes in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, and to work closely
with a team of subject teachers, co-creating and evaluating
curriculum. Additional responsibilities include attending weekly
Science Department meetings, advising, contributing to Science
Department/Upper School initiatives as determined by the Department
Head/Upper School Director, and one other significant duty,
including but not limited to athletic coaching, as determined by
the Upper School Director. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Key
functions for this position include, but are not limited to: Plans
and develops an engaging, age-appropriate course of study in the
classroom, adhering to educational best practices and curriculum
guidelines. Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and tests;
evaluates, corrects, and grades student performance. Designs and
delivers individual lesson plans in one or more academic,
technical, or vocational subjects using a variety of teaching
techniques and appealing to various learning styles. Supervises the
behavior of students in the classroom, school grounds, and
educational trips, and discusses academic difficulties or
behavioral problems with students as they arise. Monitors students'
progress throughout the year and evaluates preparedness for
graduation, vocational school, or college, as appropriate.
Communicates progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to
parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or campus
Director. Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents,
students, and colleagues. Enforces safety and security standards
for students, staff, and visitors. Maintains required paperwork for
individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and
other necessary records. Monitors halls, study periods, and
lunchrooms with other faculty and staff. Participates in faculty
meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities,
workshops, and other training seminars. Maintains knowledge of
research, developments, and best practices. Performs related tasks
such as sponsoring student activities or organizations, including
athletics. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements,
Skills, and Competencies: BB&N seeks candidates who: Hold an
undergraduate degree in science or a related field. An advanced
degree in science, education, or a similar field is preferred. Have
teaching experience and an educational background in at least two
of the following foundational science classes: Biology, Physics,
and/or Chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with
experience teaching science at the high school level. Possess a
passion for science and teaching that contributes to a dynamic and
engaging classroom experience for students. Can teach a variety of
levels of science and differentiate to a range of learners.

belonging. Salary: $69,000.00 - $101,701.00 BB&N offers
competitive salaries and benefits, employing equitable and
consistent compensation practices. The starting salary for any
hired candidate is based on experience within salary bands.
