A Full-Time Special Education teaching opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year at an elementary school located in Winsted, CT. This contract position runs from October 2025 through June 2026 and requires dedicated educators skilled in special education tutoring and individualized student support. Two positions are open: one for a 5th-grade special education teacher and one for a 6th-grade special education teacher. Both roles require previous school experience and valid special education certification. Key Qualifications: Current special education teacher certification Proven experience working with elementary school students in special education settings Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment Availability to work full-time, approximately 32-37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday Responsibilities: Deliver tailored instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of 5th or 6th-grade students Develop and manage individualized education plans in alignment with school policies and state regulations Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure student success Monitor and report student progress regularly Foster a supportive classroom environment encouraging student growth and independence Location: Elementary school setting in Winsted, Connecticut This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students educational journeys in a supportive professional setting.
