Join our team!SUMMARYThe Civil Engineer/Land Development professional is responsible for the site development and land use design of solar array and battery storage projects as well as providing technical expertise for all aspects of construction. Experience in design, permitting, and construction including expertise in stormwater design, best management practices and sedimentation and erosion control measures are all required. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential.RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and manage relationships with a network of engineering consultants for the solar plant life cycle, including origination, design, construction, and maintenance.Manage 3rd party engineering consultants responsible for performing civil engineering, surveying, construction and landscape architecture design products.Provide technical support to Nexamp development, engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance departments for the entire life cycle of a project.Provide value engineering recommendations through project life-cycle to drive cost reduction while maintaining standards for code compliance and industry best practicesProject DevelopmentPerform construction administration for project complianceProvide cost estimating support to the Nexamp Estimating teamEngineeringReview and critique all aspects of the civil engineering design.Analyze Stormwater Management ReportsManage internal civil design project reviewsDevelop design standards and proceduresSupport training of engineering department personnel, as well as new product research and implementationConstructionSite field visits and inspectionsRespond to RFIs and urgent field issuesEnsure compliance with construction documentsProject closeoutTravel up to 25%Additional duties as assigned and/or directedQUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:Bachelor's Degree in Civil EngineeringEIT required, PE preferred (or ability to obtain same)4+ years of civil engineering and land development design experience2+ years of federal, state and local permitting experience2+ years of construction administration experienceProficiency with state Stormwater Management policies and guidelinesProficient with land development design and construction issuesStrong written and oral communication skillsPresentation experience at public hearings and stakeholder negotiationsAutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD/SWMM software proficiencyMS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software proficiencyKnowledge of OSHA Safety standards; OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferredMulti-tasking and prioritization skills.If you don't meet 100% of the above qualifications, but see yourself contributing, please submit an application.
