Job Description:

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer position builds, configures, implements and supports all aspects of infrastructure related to the Cloud Computing environment. Provides technical guidance, oversight, and acts as the point of escalation and technical support for cloud compute. Builds tools and automation to eliminate manual operations.Essential Functions:Specializations - Azure, Google, Oracle, IBM, Cloud Engineering, Automation PlatformsKey Responsibilities - Performs architectural governance, infrastructure design, and deployments. Provides interface to security for cloud environment. Performs availability and operational level oversight. Details maintenance and support activities for current and existing cloud environment. Builds automation using Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash, and Terraform.

  • Performs installation, configuration, setup, testing and operational support for enterprise solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to develop road maps and strategies for Azure and Google cloud use.
  • Champion, design, and implement enterprise architecture, roadmaps, and compute adoption.
  • Educate teams on implementation strategies and initiatives.
  • Performs lifecycle management for cloud compute engines.
  • Designs, implements, and performs business continuity and disaster recovery testing exercises.
  • Participate in the design, implementation, and management of workload automation initiatives.
  • Must have a passion for technology and a love of documentation, leaving things better than you found them.
  • Performs installation, configuration, setup, testing and operational support for cloud migrations.
  • Act as the technical liaison between operations, engineers, and architects.
  • Provide critical insight into upcoming implementations and strategies, including validating ongoing solution supportability.
  • Extensive knowledge of LINUX/UNIX/Windows Engineering and administration to facilitate cloud migration and DR strategies.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting of cloud infrastructure availability, and performance.
  • Proficiency in datacenter migrations and consolidations including capacity planning, virtualization, and best practices.
  • Participate in 24X7 on-call support to provide advance support to critical issues affecting business continuity.
  • Manage third party suppliers in an infrastructure project.
  • Experience with configuring software defined networking and security configurations, including security groups, AD integration, and ACLs.Education / Experience Requirements:Position Contribution Level : Intermediate LevelMinimum Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education.
    • Working experience progressively in compute and storage engineering.
    • Working experience in complex compute and storage organization - OS, VMware, SAN/Storage and Backup/Recovery Administration.
    • 5+ years working with cloud platforms and in a hybrid cloud environment.
    • 5+ years of experience as an enterprise systems administrator.
    • Experience with moving applications, compute, and network solutions from on-prem to a cloud provider environment.
    • Experience working in large complex compute and storage organization - OS, VMware, SAN/Storage and Backup/Recovery Administration.
    • Experience with cloud backup solutions including snapshots, backup software, and replication.
    • Experience with containerization and automated deployment.
    • Working experience configuring disaster recovery failovers from site to site and to cloud provider
    • Working experience monitoring cloud performance.Preferred Education & Experience:
      • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related professional experiencePhysical Requirements:
