As we continue to grow and expand.We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Data Engineering to join our Platform Operations team.What You'll Do:

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
• Lead a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems
• Utilize programming languages like Java, Scala, Python and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Redshift and Snowflake
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community
• Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment
• Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure our code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance
• Lead and partner on initiatives on Platform Operational Excellence, Health and Compliance for ML/AI platforms
• Provide visibility and key insights on platform and application health including incident management, cyber security, risk and governance, service uptime and availability
• Partner closely with platform and application teams to drive production and operational excellence -
• Engage with key stakeholders, partners to ensure being well-managed and compliance is central to achieving operational excellence for MLX -Basic Qualifications: -
  • Bachelor's Degree -
  • At least 8 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies -
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
  • At least 4 years of people management experience -Preferred Qualifications: -
    • Master's Degree -
    • 9+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
    • 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
    • 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications -
    • 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake) -
    • 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices -
    • 6+ years of people management experience -
    • 4+ years of experience building visualizations leveraging tools like Tableau
    • 2+ years of experience leading teams developing solutions for ML Platforms OperationsCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. -The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $230,100 - $262,700 for Sr. Mgr, Data EngineeringCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
