We are seeking a skilled and experienced Remote Telecom Engineer to
join our team, specializing in cable relocation projects. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications
engineering, with specific expertise in permitting processes
through multiple entities such as City, State, Department of
Transportation (DOT), Railroads (RR), and familiarity with right of
way and joint use. This role requires a proactive individual who
can navigate complex regulatory environments and produce detailed
designs for cable relocation.
Key Responsibilities:
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Obtain necessary permits and
approvals from various entities including City, State, DOT, RR, and
other relevant authorities.
Right of Way and Joint Use: Ensure compliance with right of way and
joint use regulations, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
Utility and Infrastructure Assessment: Gather and analyze
information from local cities regarding underground utilities and
existing infrastructure.
Design and Planning: Develop comprehensive designs for cable
relocation projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry
standards.
AutoCAD Proficiency: Create detailed AutoCAD drawings and plans for
cable relocation, demonstrating proficiency in using AutoCAD
software.
Record Navigation: Efficiently navigate city and county records to
obtain necessary information for project planning and
execution.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external
contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project success.
Qualifications Previous experience in a multi-tasking, results
oriented position in a deadline focused department
Previous experience in aerial, buried and underground outside
plant; construction experience is a plus
Experience dealing with relocation in metro and suburban areas
Experience working with the DOT and municipalities
Strong communication and computer skills
Auto CAD experience
Good computer skills
