Network Automation Engineer
Location: Storrs, CT (on-site)
Duration: 6-12 months
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Network Automation Engineer to join our
infrastructure team. This role will focus on proactive network
monitoring, management of DDI services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), and
automating network provisioning and operations using Ansible. The
ideal candidate is both hands-on and strategic, with a strong
understanding of modern network architectures and automation
frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage network infrastructure using tools like
LogicMonitor or equivalent.
Administer and support DDI services with a deep understanding of
DNS, DHCP, and IPAM.
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for automating provisioning,
configuration, and management of network and infrastructure
devices.
Troubleshoot network performance and availability issues and
proactively identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with system engineers, security teams, and developers
to support infrastructure needs and resolve incidents.
Document network processes, configurations, and automation scripts
to support operational excellence.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong experience with network monitoring tools, ideally
LogicMonitor.
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with DDI systems (Infoblox,
BlueCat, etc.).
Proficiency in Ansible for infrastructure automation.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and
subnetting.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD
concepts.
Ability to script in Python, Bash, or similar languages is a
plus.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Prior exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent, especially with a
focus on automation.
