Fiberglass Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping the
signature aesthetic of America’s most admired yachts. This position
performs basic fiberglass lamination and removal for boat decks,
hulls, and other parts. The ideal candidate has a strong attention
to detail, brings a positive attitude, and has a passion for
top-notch craftsmanship. Responsibilities Preparation: Perform
rough preparatory work for lamination, including inspection,
cleaning, and assembling molds prior to project. Material
Selection: Select precut fiberglass mat/cloth and mix resins for
proper curing and strength. Use various tools such as grinders,
buffers, saws, and drills. Lamination: Lay fiberglass layers into
molds, ensuring proper alignment. Saturate mats with resin, remove
air bubbles, and smooth seams. Cosmetic Detailing: Assist in
removing hulls from molds. Perform cosmetic and structural repairs.
Safety & Quality Compliance: Follow detailed instructions, safety
rules, and chemical handling protocols. Maintain a clean,
organized, and hazard-free work area. Other: All duties as
assigned. Requirements: Experience: Zero (0) to six (6) months of
experience working with fiberglass resins and composite materials.
Can be combined with education or attained through on-the-job
training. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift between 25 and 60
lbs. Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license. Vocational
education, a plus. Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to
successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
Qualifications Knowledge and operation of: jig saw, band saw,
grinders, buffer, skill saw, drill, vacuum pump, dremel, tape
measure, hand saw, and scale rule. Comfortable working with resin
casts, silicone molds, and pouring techniques. Continuous mental
and visual attention on an intermittent basis. What Hinckley can
