Job Description Job Description Job Title: Civil Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer responsible for preparing construction documents and specifications under the direction of a Professional Engineer. This role involves producing documents such as existing conditions plans, demolition plans, site and layout plans, grading and drainage plans, erosion control plans, utility/infrastructure plans, and construction details. The role also requires performing design calculations for utilities, Stormwater management, green infrastructure, earthwork, and more. Responsibilities Prepare construction documents and specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. Create plans including existing conditions, demolition, site layout, grading and drainage, erosion control, and utility/infrastructure. Perform design calculations for utilities, Stormwater management, grading, and erosion control. Coordinate permitting and regulatory review processes with multiple agencies. Write technical reports such as Stormwater Management Reports and design impact analysis. Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project team members to develop integrated sustainable solutions. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience in civil design, site design, and Stormwater management Good written and oral communication skills Valid driver's license Additional Skills & Qualifications B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering 0-1 years of experience in Site Civil/Land Development Knowledge of site grading, stormwater management, sanitary sewer design, and water supply systems Work Environment The position is based in an open-office environment within the Darien office, working on the Land Development team with 6-7 engineers and designers. It's a collaborative environment ideal for those comfortable communicating and working closely with others. The role is production-based, with in-office work from Monday to Wednesday and remote work on Fridays, which are half-days. Expect to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, with occasional overtime. The dress code is business professional from Monday to Thursday, becoming more casual on Fridays. The office offers an open floor plan with natural light, a LEED Platinum building with ample parking, and a kitchen area for lunch. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Darien, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $37.50/hr.
