Job Description:

This position is accountable for the effective management of all sales activities within the assigned business. Meets or exceeds the established operating company sales volumes and margin objectives.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Formulates, develops and implements business action plans to achieve goals that are aligned with the overall operating company sales plan. Collects, maintains, and reports information about competitors, the competitive marketplace, and other topics useful to current and future business planning.
  • Sets clear direction for sales activity within the operating company's geography. Works with direct reports to establish and continuously improve sales processes and to effectively execute action plans.
  • Creates a sales environment focused on fact-based selling, category management, and developing strong customer engagement and relationships. Has an advanced understanding of syndicated data, sales and marketing reports. Encourages strategic and analytical skill development at all levels of the sales organization.
  • Analyzes sales volumes and margins and takes necessary actions to achieve desired results. Identifies gaps and opportunities by asking appropriate questions and working with Finance to obtain financial data. Makes decisions and takes action based on what is best not only for the operating company's sales, but for the company overall.
  • Builds strong working relationships with others in plant operations, distribution, and business services to maximize effectiveness and efficiency through collaborative effort.
  • Works strategically with sales teams and business partners to grow business with current and prospective customers. Drives marketing strategies through the organization to the customer, ensuring that sales initiatives are in alignment.
  • Lead the sales operations and sales administration functions of the business, including but not limited to: pricing, pricing analysis, trade spending, trade spending analysis, tactical brand marketing, package development input, and financial planning and analysis. Develop key performance indicators that track margin and volume results for the business
  • Oversee and manage the customer service function at company, and drive process improvements in the way orders are placed and processed.
  • Works closely with DFA Dairy Brands National Sales TeamRequired Minimum Qualifications: Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business or Business Administration
    • Master's degree preferred
    • 5 to 7 years sales experience, consumer packaged goods experience preferred
