looking for an Director of Asset Management in Portland, Maine. We

principal responsibility to provide the company---s asset
management services, consistent with best practices in the
affordable housing finance industry. This position directs
departmental functions, oversees performance of invested assets,
mitigates risk, and deploys resources. This position hires and
develops department staff. The Director is a primary representative
of the department to stakeholders. The Director clarifies
department goals and policies, develops procedures, maintains
information systems and manages quality control. Key competencies
include leadership and communication skills, performance and
financial analysis, personnel management, process administration
and problem-solving aptitude. The position also requires
substantive knowledge of affordable housing operations and
programs, as well as LIHTC industry standards and regulatory
environment. Reports to: Vice President, Asset Management
Supervises: Portland Department staff Representative
Responsibilities Department Operations Direct staff execution to
actively manage invested assets throughout their life cycle; ensure
completion of deliverables related to corporate investment
management obligations. Conduct regular periodic collection,
analysis and reporting of performance results by investment
properties and partnerships. Monitor regulatory compliance by
investment partnerships, enact corrective measures and maintain
appropriate records Ensure periodic updated risk analysis of
invested assets; mitigate operating risk and maintain investment
return; assess problems and enact corrective steps. Track and
report on asset life cycles and delivery of key performance
benchmarks; coordinate information exchange with other departments,
partners and investors. Oversee maintenance and data integrity of
asset management records and systems. Represent investors in
enforcement of contractual rights and decision-making regarding
invested assets; uphold company---s fiduciary and contractual
duties to investors and partners. Leadership Represent Asset
Management department with key stakeholders. Develop and implement
procedures and policies consistent with best industry practices.
Propose funding and allocate resources for department operating and
capital budgets. Stay current on industry knowledge and trends;
advise colleagues on affordable housing programs, standards,
regulations, and best practices. Deliver service initiatives and
education to external stakeholders. Enact decision-making on
investors--- behalf in administration of partnership contractual
rights and obligations. Supervision Recruit, direct, supervise,
coach and evaluate Asset Management staff. Supervise contractual
engagement of professionals to support asset management needs.
Provide internal and external technical assistance and performance
assessments related to property management. Team & Culture Ensure
that department staff work effectively and supportively as a team.
Collaborate with VP Asset Management in analysis and negotiation of
transactions which impact investment risk or return and require
investor action or approval. Collaborate with President, SVP and
other senior managers to meet corporate mission and performance
goals. Uphold corporate principles of respect, service, value, and
partnership. Carry out other duties as assigned. Work Environment
The position involves a high degree of interaction with senior
managers and the President, and regular interaction with EN---s
investors and Board of Directors. It involves extensive interaction
with external stakeholders, professionals, and industry
organizations. It requires extensive use of information technology
and interpretation of relevant documentation within an office
setting. It requires regular travel in Maine and New Hampshire, and
periodically within New England and nationally. It may require
attending meetings outside of traditional business hours.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Conditions Required
Bachelor---s degree. Five years--- comparable experience in
financial services, real estate investment management, or nonprofit
affordable housing. Proficiency in computer applications, including
Microsoft and Excel. Broad personnel management experience.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to
detail, and logical reasoning capacity. Current driver---s license
and/or ability to travel to properties, meetings, and conferences.
Willingness to undergo criminal background check. Preferred
Master---s degree in business administration, accounting, finance
or related field. Expertise in affordable housing property
management or LIHTC asset management. Familiarity with information
management or database tools. Job Type: Full-time
