Overview:BerryDunn is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Tax Practice Group. You will join a core team tasked with leading and managing multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. This position is planned to sit in our Portland, ME, Bangor, ME, Manchester, NH or Waltham, MA office locations or remotely to support client work. You will report to the Senior Tax Manager.Responsibilities:You will:
The Tax Manager will facilitate and manage the preparation and review federal and state tax returns for a wide range of clients across multiple industries. You are charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues, and recognizing, communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy and assist in making top-level decisions regarding filing, preparation and resolution of questions from federal/ state agencies. In addition, the Tax Manager is a critical member of the office/ region leadership team and will actively participate in the marketing, networking and business development within an area of expertise
and specialization while maintaining client relationships and acting as the primary contact for complex questions.

• Bachelor's degree and CPA license required.
• 6+ years' experience in a similar role managing engagements, clients and staff.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in
  multiple areas related to tax compliance and tax planning, including corporate and
  partnership multi-state returns, complex individual returns and clients with international
  
• Expert knowledge of a minimum of 1-2 industry areas which the firm offers.
• Strong capability to manage, develop and mentor a team of tax professionals.
• Ability to work with multiple complex clients in a fast-paced environment.
• Active participation in the firm's marketing and recruitment efforts.
• Ability to effectively delegate work as needed.
• Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills.
• Success working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to compose written tax advice.
• Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and
  presentation of issues and resolutions to clients.
• Exceptional client service, presentation and communication skills with a demonstrated
  ability to develop and nurture outstanding client relationships.
• Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring
  
• Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
