Job SummaryOverall management product portfolios including manufactured and private labeled products along with buy/sell branded items. Manage a team of Product and Portfolio professionals. Responsible for managing select product lines. Help develop new manufactured and private-labelled products aimed at meeting the evolving needs of customers and setting the company apart from competitors. Manage a team within a discipline or department, typically comprised of career/intermediate professionals or Supervisors.Responsibility for Avantor liquid handling product portfolio performance, development & execution of portfolio strategy, new product introductions and portfolio improvement projects.MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Responsibility for portfolio financial performance (revenue, GM and GM expansion). Critical thinking and report-outs to support communication of performance to key business stakeholders.
  • Development of growth plans and new product pipeline for new liquid handling products backed by solid customer needs and market analytics data to support new product development
  • Development of positioning and pricing strategy for existing and new liquid handling portfolios.
  • Responsibility for the development and commercialization of liquid handling new products. Responsibilities include business case development, ownership of product development, new product pricing, product onboarding, inventory strategy, go to market plan and coordination of training and market introduction activities.
  • Work closely with and provide support to key stakeholders in sales, marketing and operational functions to achieve growth targets for liquid handling products
  • Work with strategic sourcing to develop and implement portfolio productivity and cost improvement initiatives to drive margin expansion.
  • Work with strategic sourcing to develop key strategic supplier strategies and relationships.
  • Responsibility for problem solving within portfolio using Avantor problem solving tools.
    QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
    • Minimum requirements of bachelor's degree, Masters degree or equivalent experience preferred
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a commercial, technical, portfolio or product management role within the laboratory equipment & instruments or life science equipment & instruments field
    • Experience of identifying and developing business growth opportunities towards the delivery of profitable growth

      • Communication - Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and at suppliers and customers, including executive management
      • Team working - Demonstrated ability of working effectively in a global and cross-functional organization
      • Critical thinking - Ability to create and implement business plans and strategies
      • Economic and financial acumen - Ability to understand and apply industry and product economics to portfolio plans. Ability to assess sales, margin, inventory investment, payment terms, return on sales, return on capital employed and EBITDA to improve financial performance
      • Agility and adaptability - Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing requirements
