DescriptionExperian is looking for a talented Product Design
Manager. As a Product Design Manager, you will lead a growing team
of 3 designers. You will be a foundational member of the Product
Team responsible for creation and optimization of Experian's
white-label consumer facing products and partner experiences. You
will work closely with other team members including Product
Directors and Managers, Marketers, and Developers to define
strategy, operations, and communications to guide the team to build
best-in-class product experiences for our portfolio of responsive
websites and native mobile apps (iOS and Android). The ideal
candidate should not only be a subject matter expert, but also an
industry thought leader with a strong and well-articulated product
design perspective.Responsibilities
- Aid the Director of UX and Product Design in driving the vision
and strategy for the organization in order to deliver a world-class
customer user experience, while helping to drive performance that
includes continual improvement in business and customer experience
metrics
- Lead and oversee large-scale and complex design projects,
establish and update UX design processes and mentor junior
designers
- Design within a complex application ecosystem to ensure a
consistent, compelling and engaging customer experience across
Experian's responsive/adaptive websites and native mobile apps (iOS
and Android)
- Aid in the creation of design deliverables and specifications
in the form of user journeys, storyboards, interaction models,
process flows, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes
based on iterative UX research and usability testing
- Create solutions designed to scale and grow over time, as
product functionality and content matures and as user requirements
evolve
- Understand qualitative and quantitative research data, business
goals and requirements, and help the team translate them into
functional designs
- Optimize product usability and ecommerce performance by closely
analyzing behavioral engagement metrics, business performance
metrics, and testing alternative design solutionsQualifications
- Exceptional portfolio demonstrating a track record of
successful design and team leadership
- BA/BS degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User
Experience, Human Factors, Visual Design, Cognitive Psychology or
related degree, or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in research, UX, and
product design
- Experience working in a product organization, driving products
from conception and ideation through launch and beyond over
multiple releases (doing so in a B2B2C model is a plus)
- Strong cross-discipline team player who can influence and work
collaboratively with all team members to implement best practices
and build best-in-class user experiences
- Deep expertise across all facets of human-centered design and
user experience, spanning UX strategy, experience/interaction
design, user research/assessment, prototyping, visual design, and
user adoptionLeadership Qualifications
- 3+ years of management/leadership experience
- Proven experience in building, leading, and managing
high-performing teams
- Strong cross-discipline team player who can influence and work
collaboratively with all team members to implement best practices
and build best-in-class user experiences
- Ability to teach, provide positive constructive feedback, and
motivate others
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation
skills; ability to organize and present information on screen and
verbally with a team
- Acute attention to detail and commitment to high-quality
production standards
- Self-starter with experience working in a fast-paced
environment
- Ability to work with ambiguous details and directionTechnical
Qualifications
- Expert in Agile product development process (Scrum &
Kanban)
- Expert with project management software (Jira, Wrike, Asana
etc.)
- Expert with prototyping in Figma as well as modern software
development processes and concepts as they relate to user
experience
- Knowledge of responsive web development languages and best
practices (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React), current web-design
trends and techniques
- Knowledge of native mobile app development standards across iOS
and AndroidPerks
- During this pandemic, all Experian employees are working
remotely. Once it's safe to do so, we'll slowly return to our
offices however we are in no rush to do this. The safety of our
employees is of utmost importance.
- This position can be 100% remote.
- Accrue four weeks of vacation, five sick days and two volunteer
days (plus twelve paid holidays)
