ProSearch is pleased to be partnering with Biodiversity Research Institute (BRI) in their search for a Director of Environmental Services in their downtown Portland, Maine office. Biodiversity Research Institute (BRI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to assess emerging threats to wildlife and ecosystems through collaborative research, and to use scientific findings to advance environmental awareness and inform decision makers. The successful candidate will have an integral role within the BRI Environmental Consulting Group, a commercial consulting team dedicated to environmentally sound project development. This group works primarily on renewable solar, wind, and energy transmission projects and is at the forefront of the industry in New England. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a team of environmentally focused practitioners who are also sought-out and trusted consultants. BRI demonstrates a commitment to purpose-driven work paired with a strong conservation philosophy.The Director of Environmental Services will provide a range of consulting services to a diverse set of clients and will develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. The successful candidate must be a hands-on problem solver willing to work through issues as they arise with colleagues, clients, regulators, and with projects. Qualifications:--- 8+ years of experience with local, state, and federal energy project permitting in Maine and across New England, including strong stakeholder engagement experience. --- Strong technical knowledge and experience in the renewable energy industry; knowledge of industry business drivers and transformation drivers and impacts. --- Experience in a consulting environment.--- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and building strong advisory relationships with clients. --- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills are a must for this position, including ability to manage and coach team members. --- Problem solving mentality and a strong ability to work both independently and on multi-disciplinary teams. --- Capable of assisting with the development of technical reports, presentations, cost estimates and project proposals.
