Street is a nonprofit senior community offering a continuum of care
that includes Independent Living and 69 beds of Assisted Living. We

SUMMARY: Provide the day-to-day direction and administration of
licensed residential care facility. This position is responsible
for the overall operation of the assisted living program, including
program administration, financial management, planning,
development, staff management, and delivery of high-quality
services. Compliance with not only the mission of Avesta Housing,
but also all applicable laws, regulations, and code of ethics
consistent with appropriate standards of conduct, must be always
ensured. Demonstrate commitment to maintain high standards while
creatively working on constant improvement and continuing trend of
operating a facility that is viewed as an industry leader.RN or LPN
license is required. Must have a minimum five (5) years hands-on
experience in Senior Living, geriatric nursing and/or long-term
care. Candidates must possess the proven leadership skills to carry
out the goals, policies, and procedures of the Community. Prior
experience in an Assisted Living, Long Term Care or Skilled Nursing
facility is highly desired and necessary.This is a hands-on,
team-oriented position - reporting directly to the VP of senior
living.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage financial goals, including
preparation and administration of annual Assisted living budget and
input into the prioritization of planned and unplanned
expenditures, and maintaining operations within staffing guidelines
based on occupancy/acuity metrics. Based at 75 State Street, hire,
direct, supervise and evaluate health services staff, including
training and orientation programs at 75 State Street.Ensure nursing
coverage, to include on call coverage is in alignment with
operating budgets and residents care plans.In collaboration with
sales and marketing director and the VP of senior living: plan,
development and implement outreach plans and support sales and
census goals for assisted living.Prepare and oversee the
preparation of resident assessments and service plans, utilizing
input from resources such as residents, family members/responsible
parties, physicians, care providers, and health services staff.
Lead and direct the assisted living program in a fair and
consistent manner that will provide excellent resident care and
maximize staff participation while maintaining a strong commitment
to the AL mission.Ensure that each resident's abilities and needs
are addressed in keeping with the mission of the facility, that a
pertinent service plan based on the assessment is developed, and
that each resident's service plan is appropriately managed.Oversee
all aspects of resident care to include MDS, care planning,
resident assessments, and discharge planning.Manage and operate the
AL program to maintain ongoing compliance with appropriate
standards. Ensure that the program is prepared for inspection by
regulatory agencies through regular auditing and updating of
program policies and procedures.Develop, maintain, and carry out
written policies and procedures consistent with regulations
outlined in Regulations Governing the Licensing and Functioning of
Assisted Housing Programs: Level IV Private Non-Medical
Institutions, published by the Maine Department of Health and Human
Services Division of Licensing and Regulatory Services. Develop
other policies as needed to ensure the orderly conduct of
residential care, including coordination and implementation of
policies and procedures, resident care, grievance procedures,
personnel management, training and development, and emergency
procedures.Participate and plan annual in-service or continuing
education programs relevant to the program, population being
served, and/or administrative job duties.Direct the AL program to
provide a safe environment which supports the residents' rights to
freedom from abuse, neglect or exploitation.Maintain ongoing
communication with residents, including solicitation and
measurement of feedback, implementation of suggestions whenever
possible, and development of an annual program for
evaluation/quality improvementUphold a positive, respectful
environment in which both employees and residents feel comfortable,
while still maintaining staff accountability.Manage financial
goals, including preparation and administration of annual Assisted
living budget and input into the prioritization of planned and
unplanned expenditures, and maintaining operations within staffing
guidelines based on occupancy/acuity metrics. Schedule, attend and
participate in regular staff meetings.Maintain an understanding of
the aging process.Maintain confidentiality and compliance with
HIPAA regulations.Participate with Manager On Duty program, working
weekends on a rotating basis with other department heads.Value and

FUNCTIONS:Participate on committees as assigned.Promote connection
between residential care program and Avesta.Other duties as
assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: RN or LPN license required Level IV
Residential Care Facility Administrator's License or a Multi-Level
Long Term Care Administrator's License or be able to obtain either
within 6 months.Working understanding of Maine Care as it relates
to residential care is desired.Strong organizational and time
management skills.Ability to conceptualize, organize and implement
a plan for the program, anticipate problems, predict outcomes and
plan for the future.Experience in nursing, health, human services
and/or community services field.Thorough knowledge and
understanding of the Regulations Governing the Licensing and
Functioning of Assisted Housing Programs. Experience in recruitment
and management of personnel.Demonstrated understanding of how
assisted living/residential care programs function from governing
bodies to financing.Knowledge of the community service network and
resources.Excellent oral and written communication skills and the
ability to communicate the program philosophy and goals.Willingness
to respond to issues as they arise, including availability during
non-working hours.Ability and enthusiasm to grow position with
changing needs of organization, including possibility of taking on
expanded programs related to the elderly.Demonstrated skills in
financial management.Comprehensive understanding of resident's
rights.Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and supervisory
skills.Demonstrated ability in interpersonal and business
communications.Collaborative approach and respectful relationship
style with colleagues and consultants.Strong organizational skills
with exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi- task.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook,
Excel, Word and PowerPoint; ability to use relevant software and
