Depending on experience this position is eligible for a Sign-On
Bonus of up to $20,000
Eligible candidates are Certified Surgical Technologists. New
graduates and previous MMC and MaineHealth employees with more than
3 months of separation are eligible. Current MMC and MaineHealth
employees are not eligible.
Position Summary:
Position is responsible for assisting in surgical operations as
part of a team under the supervision of surgeons, registered
nurses, or other surgical personnel.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Completion of an accredited Surgical Assisting
program.
License/Certifications: CST - Current certification. Current BLS
certification.
Experience: Two years' assisting experience preferred with
documentation of training/expertise provided.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology,
professional ethics, and medical terminology.
Knowledge of safety, infection control, and quality improvement
protocols.
Skill in operating surgical equipment including both sterile and
non-sterile equipment.
