Position Summary
The manager is responsible for overall direction and supervision of
the Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR) Division of the
Department of Radiology. The manager works closely with the VIR
Division Medical Director and Department of Radiology senior
management to ensure that the VIR Division provides high quality
comprehensive VIR services to patients of all clinical service
lines while achieving divisional, departmental, and institutional
service delivery and clinical objectives.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Completion of and graduation from a two-year program in
an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology. A Bachelor's
degree in Radiologic Technology, associated health sciences, or
other health care related field is required.
License/Certifications: Certification and current registration as a
Radiologic Technologist with VIR subspecialty registration with the
ARRT. Current State of Maine License as a Radiologic
Technologist.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience, such as in a charge or
Lead role, as Senior VIR Technologist, VIR Supervisor, or VIR
Manager, in addition to six (6) years of experience as a VIR
Technologist is required.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all VIR procedures,
techniques, equipment and materials used, as well as a high level
of proficiency in performing all such procedures.
Knowledge of current JCAHO standards and requirements for provision
of VIR services in a hospital environment.
Proven leadership and management skills to achieve and sustain a
clinically proficient, motivated and engaged team of professional
technical staff and to support close working collaboration with
other Departmental and Institutional Managers, Directors, and
Senior Leaders.
Financial management skills sufficient to prepare and manage
capital and operating budgets.
