Summary
Experienced Surgical Technologists are eligible to up to a $20,000
Sign-On Bonus with CVOR experience!
Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for other specialties.
New Grads are eligible for a $3,000 Sign-On Bonus.
Pro-rated for part-time roles
Eligible candidates are Certified Surgical Technologists.
New graduates and previous MMC and MaineHealth employees with more
than 3 months of separation are eligible. Current MMC and
MaineHealth employees are not eligible.

your opportunity to join our exceptional Surgical team as a Level
II Surgical Technologist - CST. You will work in one of the most
state of the art facilities at Maine Medical Center, our flagship
hospital, and regional level one trauma center.
Position Summary
The Operating Room Surgical Technologist Level II meets all of the
criteria for Surgical Technologist Level I. The Level II Surgical
Technologist works with considerable independence and self
direction in order to ensure all the necessary elements are in
place for each surgical procedure. National certification must be
continually maintained. Participates in the teaching of staff and
students.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: N/A
License/Certifications: Certification required within three months
of employment or at the discretion of the Department Director.
Experience: One year of surgical technology work experience is
required at this level.
Possesses knowledge of multiple types of equipment pertinent to
Surgical Technologist role including but not limited to: cell
saver, laser, ultradrive, cusa, steris, autoclaves, cautery,
laparoscopic video system, endoscopic tower.
Possesses knolwedge of contents of muliple speciality instrument
trays for assigned service.
Demonstrates the required knowledge and technical skills to perform
core Operating Room procedures and speciality procedures in
assigned services. Surgical procedures include but are not limited
to: scheduled general, cariac, neuro, pediatric, multiple trama,
GYN, GU, vascular, orthopedics, as well as common emergencies.
Knowledge of aspetic technique and operating room standards and
procedures, acquired through completion of course in an approved
school of Surgical Technology.
Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with others.
Ability to stand continually for several hours, and to move,
position, transport patients, stretchers, equipment, etc.
Ability to concentrate on detail and adjust quickly to changes of
assignment.
