St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport has more than 3,200
employees. It includes a 473-bed community teaching hospital, a
76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large
multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for
adults and children. St. Vincent's is the first hospital in
Fairfield County to be integrated into the Hartford HealthCare
network, and is the system's second-largest hospital.
Summary:
The Lead CT Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic CT
procedures according to established protocols to assist the
referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. - The Lead CT Tech
performs computed tomography (CT) procedures by selecting correct
exposure factors, algorithms and scan fields while utilizing the
assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce technically
accurate cross sectional images to assist the radiologist in
diagnosis and treatment. Participates in complex invasive CT
examinations by assisting the Radiologist or Physician's Assistant
using proper sterile technique and producing CT images. -
This is an advanced technical position that provides clinical
expertise and education to the CT department, to ensure that a high
quality, cost effective product or service is delivered in support
of the hospital's strategic plan, and the functions' according to
the policies, procedures, philosophy, goals and objectives. -This
position is mainly 90-100% clinical and provides oversights for
off- shift or off- site. -
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Licensed Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Connecticut
Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job
transfer date.
Certified Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. ARRT-R or
ARRT-CT acceptable. -
Education: -
Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
Experience:
1 year as a CT Technologist required
