being one of the busiest Emergency Departments in Connecticut, our
RNs treat patients with the highest acuity in the region, the
Hartford Hospital ED is also a chest pain center and comprehensive
stroke center. The department is comprised of 109 beds, with the
addition of a 19-bed ED Observation Unit. The ED treats an average
of 109,000 patients annually. Hartford Hospital is home to the
largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for
Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), which is recognized as
one of the most-advanced medical simulation training centers in the
world. Our ED is also home to Life Star the state's first Critical
Care helicopter service. Our Rock Star ED RN’s are the recipients
of the prestigious National Lantern Award for Excellence in
Nursing. The Assistant Nurse Manager supervises a large work group
to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services are delivered in
support of the hospital's strategic plan. The ANM performs within
the department’s goals and objectives by maintaining effective,
positive relationships with staff, patients, and families alike by
responding to needs, resolving conflicts, and educating employees.
The ANM effectively and continually communicates with the staff,
management, and patients/families to facilitate the flow of
information necessary to the success of the ED RN and support staff
the larger work group. The ANM reports to the Emergency Department

Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree and/or appropriate certification
required. • ACLS, PALS, TNCC and CEN preferred • At least 2 years
of Emergency Department RN experience • 1 years of experience
leading employees in an emergency care setting • Strong
communications skills required - both written, verbal and public
