Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Certifications: BLS certification required; ACLS certification
preferred Description: Need one traveler to start on 02/03 and
another to start on 02/15. Immunizations are required: - Varicella
2 doses or titer - HepB 3 doses or titer or declination - MMR 2
doses or titer - Tdap - PPD 2 step or titer within the past 12
months - Flu shot is required during flu season. Agency W-9 and COI
for WC and Liability $1M/$3M. Traveler will report for onboarding
process on day 1. BSN preferred. Ability to problem solve and
demonstrate critical thinking skills. Effective verbal and written
communication skills are necessary. Knowledge base should include
nursing assessment and skills for all age groups. Requires
standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, bending,
reaching, balance, and lifting. Must be able to push patients in
wheelchairs and stretchers, and lift up to 30 lbs. Visual and
hearing acuity must be sufficient to assess patients. Exposure to
infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, toxic cleaning
chemicals, and fumes is possible. Job Functions include: 1.
Performing initial age-appropriate nursing assessment. 2.
Completing ongoing age-appropriate reassessments. 3. Completing
discharge assessment to identify patient discharge needs. 4.
Identifying priorities for the delivery of nursing care. 5.
Developing and implementing a plan of care based on patient needs
and physician orders. 6. Executing appropriate nursing actions to
reach patient goals. 7. Communicating patient care activities to
healthcare team members. 8. Updating healthcare team members on
current status and any changes in plan. 9. Documenting patient care
activities in accordance with established standards and hospital
policies and procedures. 10. Initiating specialty or supplemental
nursing notes as appropriate. 11. Assisting with patient charges.
12. Delivering patient care in accordance with hospital policies
and procedures and within the scope of the state Nursing Practice
Act. 13. Maintaining a physical environment that provides for
patient and staff safety and wellness. 14. Ensuring that supplies
and equipment are readily available and in safe working order. 15.
Reporting situations involving questionable safety or legality
promptly to nursing management. 16. Demonstrating knowledge and
skills necessary to implement procedures in the event of an
internal or external disaster. 17. Demonstrating knowledge of drug
administration and effects. 18. Utilizing appropriate drug
reference sources for drug information. 19. Administering drugs
correctly while utilizing the five rights through medication
verification. 20. Evaluating patient response to medications. 21.
Assessing the need for patient or family education and providing
teaching as indicated. 22. Completing discharge plans and ensuring
patient or family understanding of the plan. 23. Performing
follow-up calls to patients. 24. Assessing nursing care throughout
the shift. 25. Participating in meetings and bedside rounding with
hospitalists and case managers. 26. Promoting the institution and
its employees through professional behavior. 27. Actively
participating in quality improvement initiatives and recommending
process improvements as appropriate. 28. Participating in emergency
and disaster preparedness planning and drills as requested. 29.
Expected to participate in the institution’s response during
real-life disaster or emergency events within the scope of
professional and personal ability. Facility reserves the right to
