be considered. An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse
skilled in step-down care to provide specialized nursing within a
subacute care unit (SCU) setting. This assignment offers the chance
to apply critical care skills in a supportive 8-bed unit with
patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1, ensuring focused,
high-quality care. Location: Augusta, MEan inviting city known for
its rich history, scenic beauty along the Kennebec River, and a
welcoming community atmosphere. Offering a mix of urban amenities
and outdoor activities, it is an excellent place for professional
growth and personal enjoyment. Responsibilities: - Deliver
exceptional nursing care to patients in a step-down/intermediate
care setting. - Manage complex clinical scenarios involving
ventilators, vasoactive drips, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and
other advanced equipment. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary
teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. -
Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC electronic medical
records. - Occasionally float to medical-surgical units as
required. - Adhere to unit policies including prescribed dress code
of navy blue scrubs. - Provide care during either day (6 a.m.6
p.m.) or night (6 p.m.6 a.m.) shifts, with a guaranteed 36 hours
per week and a minimum of every other weekend required.
Qualifications & Desired Experience: - Minimum 5 years of nursing
experience in ICU, SCU, or IMC settings. - Proficiency with
ventilators and vasoactive medication management. - Familiarity
with patient care equipment such as ceiling lifts, plumb pumps, and
SCD boots. - Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and proactive
communication skills. This is a contract position offering valuable
experience in a dynamic clinical environment without call
