Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a
Telemetry Float Pool night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, and
a ME or compact RN license. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Float Pool
position in a hospital setting working primarily with telemetry,
medical/surgical, and intermediate care units - Patient population
is adults only with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, stroke, MI,
post-op surgical, and vascular cases - Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00
AM, working 12-hour shifts - Every other weekend is required,
including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - Floating required to
Medical, Surgical, Telemetry, Observation, and IMC units - Typical
patient ratio is 1:5/6 on nights, 1:4/5 on days, and 1:3 in
intermediate care - EMR system used is Cerner - May occasionally
work with medical students or RN students in the unit - Occasional
call may be required if census drops - Primary duties include
caring for adults with complex cardiac, medical, and post-operative
needs in a fast-paced float setting - Charge RN coverage varies:
free floating weekdays, takes an assignment on nights and weekends
- 24/7 support from CNAs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and
consult intensivists - Orientation consists of one
regulatory/equipment shift and one clinical orientation shift -
Professional scrubs required in any color; scrubs are not provided
- Flu vaccination required for start dates after 9/30/2024, with
only medical exemptions considered - Holiday shifts are required
and scheduled as needed - Free on-site parking available /n /n
Requirements/n - Active ME or compact RN license - Current BLS and
ACLS certifications required - Minimum of 2 years RN experience,
with at least 1 year in specialty - Experience in cardiac drip
management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, chest tube
and trach care, and central/PICC line care required - Previous
permanent employment at any Northern Light Health Hospital
disqualifies candidates - Must not be a first-time traveler -
Candidates must reside at least 100 miles south or southwest of
EMMC in Bangor, ME for consideration - Submission requires two
recent supervisory references, copies of all certifications, and
