Nocturnist Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physicians Hartford HealthCare is a fully integrated system includes a tertiary-care teaching hospital, an acute-care community teaching hospital, an acute-care hospital and trauma center, three community hospitals, the state s most extensive behavioral health network, a large multispecialty physician group, a regional home care system, an array of senior care services, a large physical therapy and rehabilitation network and an accountable care organization. Backus Hospital is a modern and progressive 233-bed, not-for-profit acute care community hospital that provides state-of-the-art comprehensive medical services, personalized attention and care to residents of its 22-town service area in Southeastern Connecticut. Backus is one of seven hospitals within Hartford HealthCare - the largest, most comprehensive, integrated health system in Connecticut. Nocturnist Physicians Responsibilities include Admissions, Cross Coverage and ICU Transfers. Backus Hospital has a 12-bed ICU/CCU unit; procedures are not required. This position may also fill-in at our sister facility, Windham Hospital, just 16 miles away. The Nocturnistserves as admitting Physician for Attending Medical Staff, is responsible for the clinical management of patients, assuring timely communication and comprehensive collaboration and is also responsible for Inpatient Management/Hospital based medical care. This hospital-based position will have selected administrative responsibilities such as required committee work, quality improvement activities, and teaching responsibilities for both staff and the community.
