ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Portland, Maine. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/01/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - IMC Job Details: • Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • 36 guaranteed hours per week • Weekend hours available as needed • No call requirements • Float to appropriate similar units at IMC level or lower as needed • Must have minimum 2 years experience with prior travel assignment at med-surg level or higher • IMC experience and travel experience preferred • Patient ratio of 1:3 for IMC patients (1:4-5 days, 1:5-6 nights when floating to med-surg) • Work with telemetry, BIPAP, Hi-Flow O2, and insulin drips for DKA protocol • Use Epic EMR system • Care for patients with respiratory conditions, medical telemetry, surgical cases, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, failure to thrive, and acute on chronic medical conditions • BLS certification required • Complete mandatory onboarding education modules • Professional scrubs required in any color, no unprofessional clothing or non-hospital related logos • Must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, accountability, good communication, patient-centered care, and positive attitude Facility: This healthcare facility features a 12-bed intermediate care unit as part of a larger 36-bed floor, providing specialized care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring than general medical-surgical units but less intensive than critical care. The facility utilizes advanced medical equipment and Epic electronic medical records system to deliver comprehensive patient care.
