(CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating
Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. A surgical technologist role
is available in Orono, ME, ideal for professionals with
certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and
Surgical Assisting. This contract position involves working
directly under the supervision of a surgeon to facilitate safe and
efficient invasive surgical procedures while maintaining strict
sterile techniques. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the operating
room by checking supplies and equipment. Scrub, gown, and glove
yourself, the surgeon, and assistants. Conduct instrument, sponge,
and needle counts with the circulator before and during surgery.
Assist in draping the sterile field and passing instruments during
the procedure. Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique
throughout the operation. Perform terminal cleaning of the room and
prepare instruments for sterilization. Support prepping the
surgical suite for subsequent patients. Contribute to training and
mentoring new employees and students in the scrub tech role.
Qualifications and Experience: Completion of a trade or technical
school certificate or diploma in surgical technology. Certification
from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical
Assisting. At least one year of previous experience in surgical
