Job Description Job Summary: The Medical Assistant EWYL (Earn
While You Learn Program), will be required to participate in the
accelerated MA training program through our education partners
while also completing on-the-job training in the outpatient
setting. Upon successful completion of the program, the employee is
required to sit for the national certification exam and must pass
to remain employed as a Medical Assistant within the practice they
were hired. Attendance for both on-the-job training and in the
classroom is required to complete the program. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities - Supports and promotes the mission and values of
Covenant Health Ministry. - Demonstrates competence and knowledge
in clinical areas of practice as outlined in the clinical
competency. - Advanced computer skills and able to demonstrate
proficiency with our electronic medical record as well as the
learning software. - Growth-oriented, receptive to training, and
adaptable. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment,
managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and remains flexible
as healthcare is constantly evolving. - Coordinates patient flow
while obtaining vital signs accurately. - Administers care to
patients as directed by provider. - Builds rapport with the care
team and participates in process improvement and quality projects.
- Relays results, instructions, messages to patients in person, via
the patient portal, and/or by telephone. - Maintains
confidentiality and abides by the Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA). - Maintains required licenses,
certifications, and competencies, and completes annual compliance
courses on time. - Other duties as consistent with this role. Job
Requirements Job Knowledge and Skills - BLS within 6 months of
hire. - Advanced computer skills, ability to learn EMR software. -
Read/comprehend written instructions. - Follow verbal instructions.
- Able to work with the public in person, by telephone, and via
written communication. - Critical thinking and problem-solving
skills. - Attention to detail. - Collaborates well with others.
Education and Experience - High School or GED required. - Ability
to pass CASAS testing through our education partners. An equivalent
combination of education and experience which provides proficiency
in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for
the above education and experience requirements. Working
Conditions/Physical Demands OSHA standards Category I, exposure to
blood/body fluids or tissue. Must be able to work in a high-paced
environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing, and sound
decision-making skills are required. Exposed to disease, illness,
infections, strains, and physical injury. Must possess the physical
and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with
this position that involves a combination of sitting, (standing up
to 8 hours), twisting, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50
lbs. Some stress is related to a high level of responsibility for
quality care. The ability to speak, read, write, and understand
written instructions in English is required. Covenant Health

Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At
the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your
skills and experience as it relates to the position.
