BlueWater is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for full or part time work at Houlton Regional Hospital in Houlton, ME. About the Position : Partnership Track. About the Hospital: Houlton Regional Hospital (HRH) is a 25-bed critical access acute care facility located in Southern Aroostook County that was just presented with the Leapfrog organization's Top Rural Hospital award for the second year in a row. HRH was the only rural hospital in Maine to be given this award for 2022. Our hospital serves the needs of approximately 17,000 people in a wide geographic area, bordered by New Brunswick, Canada to the East. Its catchment area includes a significant geriatric population. The ED sees about 11,500 patients per year; 25-35 patient a day and is staffed with single 24-hour physician coverage with additional overnight APP coverage. There is a small increase in volume in the summer months with many vacationers enjoying various outdoor activities our great state has to offer. There is plenty of opportunity to maintain skill and competency, as we often manage critically ill patients awaiting transfer to tertiary care centers. The Houlton Physician Practices include Family Practice, Pain Management, GYN, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Urology, Podiatry and General Surgery Services, as well as specialty services in our Outpatient Clinics. About the Area: Houlton gives you access to all that Maine has to offer and everything is in your back yard. Mount Katahdin, the highest peak in Maine and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail is located just south of Houlton.
