year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.

considered. A 1099 contract opportunity is available for a Sign
Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a
school setting in South Portland, ME. This role supports remote
educational and communication needs by providing expert
interpretation services to ensure effective interaction among
students, educators, and healthcare professionals. Key
Responsibilities: Facilitate clear and accurate sign language
interpretation during telehealth sessions. Collaborate remotely
with educational staff and healthcare providers to support students
communication needs. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to
professional standards in all interpreted communications. Manage
scheduling and reporting in alignment with contract requirements.
Desired Qualifications and Experience: Proficiency in American Sign
Language (ASL) and experience interpreting in educational or
telehealth environments. Ability to work independently as a 1099
contractor, managing time and responsibilities effectively. Strong
understanding of confidentiality protocols and best practices in
telehealth communication. Previous experience supporting students
with hearing impairments in remote settings is highly advantageous.
