Job Description MAS Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Assistant Director Long Term Care for a travel nursing job in Suffield, Connecticut. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Long Term Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours - Employment Type: Travel RN/Assistant Director of Nursing | Up to $120,000/annual /n /n Responsibilities: /n• Provide telehealth instruction to patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of certain equipment and/or respiratory care procedures. /n• Provide onsite instruction to patients and/or caregivers as needed on the proper use of certain equipment and/or respiratory care procedures. /n• Provide virtual follow-ups for patients and/or caregivers on the proper use of certain equipment and/or respiratory care procedures. /n• Perform on site follow-ups on patients when appropriate. /n• Prepare and maintain a record for each patient containing all pertinent information, care plans, physician prescriptions and follow-up documentation. /n• Consult with referring physician when appropriate regarding patient treatment, medical condition, and Plan of Care. /n• Participate in ongoing education and training sessions regarding respiratory patient care. /n• Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders as indicated by their individual care plan. /n• Monitor physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs as indicated. /n• Provide education to patients with oxygen, CPAP, BIPAP, and other respiratory equipment for complex respiratory diagnoses (excluding ventilators) /n• Perform and assist patients with the following equipment/therapy: /no 50 PSI Compressor /no BiWaze Cough System /no Luna G3 PAP and ResMed APAP /no Luna 3B BPAP and ResMed BPAP /no Mask Fitting /no Oxygen Concentrators and Regulators /no Pediatrics /no ResMed ASV /no ResMed Aircurve ST and Luna ST /no ResMed ST-A (with iVAPs) /n /n• Perform testing and preventive maintenance on respiratory equipment in patients’ residence. /n• Instruct patients, caregivers, physicians, and physicians’ staff on the proper use of respiratory equipment and necessary cleaning requirements. /n• Serve as liaison between patient and other members of the health care team when required. /n• Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans. /n• Deliver/pick up equipment and/or supplies to patients’ homes as necessary. /n• Contact physician and/or necessary health care team member regarding orders, complications and recommendations. Evaluate respiratory equipment for home use. /n• Participate in mandatory in-services and other trainings as scheduled. /n• Keep all financial and patient information confidential, in accordance with company mandate and HIPAA security standards. /n• Complete patient files and paperwork as per current policies. /n• Regular rotation for on-call services with expectation of answering any on-call within 15 minutes or less and responding physically to emergencies within the assigned service area as quickly as possible./n/n /n /nBasic Qualifications /n /n• 21 years of age or older /n• Must be eligible to work in the United States and not require work authorization from us now or in the future /n• Valid US driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within the last 3 years /n• Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)-accredited respiratory therapy degree program with associate degree (AS, AAS) or a bachelor's degree (BS) and appropriate licensure. /n• Must be currently licensed and in good standing with the Licensure Board of Registration of the state of practice /n• Must possess RRT, RCP, CRTT credentials /n• Valid state (s) Respiratory Care license/n/n /n /nRequired Skills /n /n· Effective and professional verbal and written communication abilities /n· Great customer service skills /n· Professional computer experience (especially Microsoft Office Suite) /n· Ability to work independently to investigate and make decisions /n· Strong attention to detail /n· Outstanding organizational skills /n· Ability to prioritize and complete work amidst interruptions in a busy work area /n· Ability to comply with guidelines both internal and industry-imposed /n· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred/n/n /nCompetencies: /n• Communication Skills /n• Dependability /n• Ethics /n• Organizational Skills /n• Technical Skills /n• Customer Service /n• Result Driven/n/n /n/n Work Environment & Physical Demands: /n/n /nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Respiratory Ventilator Homecare Therapist to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
