Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Deliver expert perioperative nursing care in the fast-paced Operating Room (OR) setting, specializing in ENT, dental, plastics, pediatrics, trauma level 1, and complex head and neck surgeries. This contract RN-OR position offers an exciting opportunity to support diverse surgical procedures utilizing advanced technologies and EPIC EMR documentation. Location: Situated in South Portland, ME, this role is based within a leading medical center renowned for comprehensive surgical care. Schedule/Hours: Choice of 4x10 or 4x12 shifts Primary shift options: 7:00 AM 7:30 PM (36 hrs/week) or 7:00 AM 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week) Occasional weekend or on-call shifts Key Responsibilities: Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in the OR setting for a range of procedures, including laryngoscopy, sinus surgery, facial plastics, cochlear implants, oral surgery, trauma, tonsillectomies, and tympanoplasties Collaborate with surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes across all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics Utilize EPIC EMR system for accurate documentation and communication Maintain compliance with infection control standards and procedural protocols Adapt quickly to the urgent needs of a Level 1 trauma environment while providing compassionate patient-centered care Qualifications and Experience: Valid RN licensure with 2 years of experience in Operating Room nursing BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred Familiarity or certification with AORN practices is a strong plus Experience with ENT, dental, plastics, pediatric, and trauma cases essential Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented, patient-focused environment Additional Details & Benefits: Scrubs provided Opportunity to expand skills in complex surgical specialties Contract position with flexible scheduling options to support work/life balance Ready to apply your operating room expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment in South Portland?
