Complete a supervised training program on handling and driving a CDL Class A vehicle. Assist in loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring safety and integrity of goods. Learn route navigation and customer interaction techniques. Maintain logs and records as per DOT regulations and company policies. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures. Strong driving skills and familiarity with DOT regulations. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate electronic equipment and software (e.g., GPS, AVL units, CB). Good physical condition and endurance to handle significant manual handling. Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspection and minor repairs.
