While preference will be given to more seasoned professionals, consideration will include those who display a strong desire to learn.**SummaryImplements and documents computer programs as assigned by the Applications Development Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities*This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

  • Ability to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized and formats for reports.
  • Receives program specifications to efficiently create computer programs in a client/server environment.
  • Possess the ability to thoroughly test and audit programs prior to placing in a production environment.
  • Possess the knowledge to fully utilize all relational database functions and concepts in a client/server environment.
  • Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by computer programs as requested.
  • Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda and instructional manuals as necessary to meet documentation standards.
  • Upgrades computer applications and corrects errors to maintain computer applications after implementation.
  • Works with other IS programmers in all aspects of the development and implementation of applications. Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesShould have demonstrated hands-on experience in the implementation of client/server software systems; and, a minimum of three to four years applied programming experience in a highly complex business environment. Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university in computer sciences required. Three to five years recent relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses and RegistrationsNone required. Special RequirementsNone. Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and business partners. Mathematical SkillsAbility to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Physical DemandsRegularly required to sit for prolonged periods of time. Frequently uses hands to operate the keyboard of a personal computer and other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Working HoursTypical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position may be subject to some non-routine hours. Employee must be available to come in early or work late on occasion. Work EnvironmentPrimarily those of a professional office environment. Occasionally asked to travel and may be then exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. There is greater exposure to noise when traveling and meeting at turnpike sites. *The physical requirements and working conditions here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
