looking for a full-time phlebotomist in Portland, ME area. The
Phlebotomist ensures the proper collection, processing, labeling,
storage, and mailing of blood and urine samples to the laboratory
for testing.Collects patient blood and/or urine specimens using
established proceduresProperly prepares collected specimens for
testing and analysis, ensuring specimen integrityVerifies urine and
blood test requisitionsIdentifies the patient before any specimen
is obtainedLabels and documents specimens to prepare for
shipmentMaintains daily tallies of collections performedTracks and
requests laboratory and office supplies needed to fulfill
dutiesProvides site specific procedural training to new
employeesMaintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by
following standards and procedures; complying with legal
regulations; follow Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when
handling specimens.Strictly adheres to HIPAA regulationsTravels to
additional sites when neededPerforms additional job duties as
assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma, GED, or
equivalentPhlebotomy certification from an accredited
agencyComputer and technology proficientValid driver's license and
car insuranceReliable transportationAbility to pass a background
checkA proven ability to handle ambiguity in the absence of defined
