Job Description:
We're seeking a Cloud Data Platform Architect with deep
expertise in Microsoft SQL Server to lead the design and
optimization of high-throughput, scalable, and reliable database
systems deployed in Azure and AWS. This is a critical, strategic
role within organization - ideal for someone who has architected
enterprise-grade SQL Server solutions processing 100s of millions
of transactions or records daily.Duties and Responsibilities
- Architect scalable and high-performing SQL Server solutions in
cloud environments (Azure & AWS)
- Lead the design and execution of strategies to improve
operational concurrency, throughput, and reliability
- Work closely with developers, DevOps, and data engineers to
optimize performance and cost
- Evaluate current data models and indexing strategies, proposing
improvements for cloud-native scalability
- Identify bottlenecks and performance, of queries, updates, and
database locking
- Define and implement monitoring, observability, and alerting
standards
- Provide leadership in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and
high availability design
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for data platform
evolution
- Support R&D projects with architectural guidance on
data-heavy applications and servicesQualifications
- 10+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including 3+
years in cloud-based deployments (Azure and/or AWS)
- Proven experience with large-scale systems processing millions
of rows/transactions per day
- Strong background in query optimization, indexing,
partitioning, and concurrency control
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed
Instance, or Amazon RDS for SQL Server
- Deep understanding of database internals and transaction
processing
- Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to
influence at all levelsTechnical Skills
- Microsoft SQL Server Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL and
related database technologies.
- Knowledge of data and analytical cloud platform solutions
- Knowledge of tools and techniques to analyze performance of SQL
solutions.Soft Skills
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within
cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, especially in
client-facing interactions, with English as the primary
language.Educational Background
- A Bachelor or Master of Science in Computer Science or a
