Verrill seeks to hire an Associate attorney to join our Portland office as a member of our Energy, Telecommunications, and Natural Resources practice group. Verrill is a full-service law firm with more than 150 attorneys conducting a nationwide practice from our offices in Portland and Augusta, Maine; Westport, Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate has Juris Doctorate and one to five (1-5) years' experience with complex statutory and regulatory programs. Admission to the Maine Bar or ability to waive in is required. This position will support an active practice group that focus primarily on the regulation of energy, water, and wastewater systems, and other infrastructure projects, including Public Utilities Commission regulation, and legislative and municipal relations.

Applicants must have excellent legal and academic credentials; superb research, writing, and document management skills; superior verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to deal directly with clients, third party consultants and governmental officials. Applicants must have rigorous attention to detail combined with unflagging responsiveness to clients and their needs.
