Summary Position Summary Directs and coordinates work for technologists who are involved in the production of Magnetic Resonance Scans. Work includes the supervision of the technical personnel at an MRI site. Work is performed under the direction of the Chief MRI Technologist in coordination with the Physician Directors of MRI through discussion, reports, and observation of results achieved. -- MRI Techs at Maine Medical Center work with state of the art technology to promote excellent patient care and--have the opportunity to enhance their career through our culture of continuous learning -- This is primarily a Monday-Friday position. Some weekends required and some call necessary. -- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Knowledge of Magnetic Resonance equipment, procedures and techniques, magnet safety and protection as well as anatomy and physiology at a level generally acquired through the completion of a two year program in an A.M.A. approved school of Radiological Technology plus three to five years of progressively more responsible experience. License/Certifications: Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and certification in MRI. Experience: See "Education" Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all MRI procedures, techniques, equipment and materials used, as well as a high level of proficiency in performing all such procedures. Analytical ability to organize the activities of others and to make sound decisions. Interpersonal skills necessary to direct the work of others, to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, technologists, physicians and others, and to provide effective leadership for technologist staff.
