We would still be interested in speaking with you! - Position Overview MedRhythms' Product team is growing quickly to accelerate our mission to deliver better health outcomes for patients living with brain injury or disease. Our product experience is unique in its combination of audio, wearable sensors, and visual design to deliver innovative digital therapies based on neuroscience research in music. As a UI Designer, your core focus will be to design product user interfaces and flow of experience for patients with neurological disease, and the caregivers and providers who support them. We are a rapidly growing startup with a need for creative thinkers dedicated to human-centered solutions and hands-on design. We are seeking a curious, self-directed individual who is passionate about scalable visual design, is energized by co-creating solutions with end users and Product and Engineering colleagues, and a cross-functional team of passionate teammates. - In this role you will take a lead to define the creative visual and User-interface standards of MedRhythms' digital therapeutics portfolio of products. You'll be a champion for user-centered design, a driver of continuous process improvement, and a day-to-day partner to Engineering to deliver development-ready design artifacts that ensure your design vision becomes reality. And to ensure our designs meet the rigorous quality and compliance requirements of our industry as well as acceptance in our user community, you'll collaborate closely with Product Management (PM), User Research (UXR), and our Quality team to refine and validate your designs. In this role you will design user interfaces that meet the unique needs of MedRhythms' patients, caregivers, and h ealthcare providers; as well as create and maintain a design system and standards that support rapid platform growth and meet regulatory guidelines for health technology. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and is a combination of salary, bonus potential and company equity. - Responsibilities

  • Lead and define the creative visual and User Interface design of MedRhythms' digital therapeutics. -
  • Work closely with a team of Product Managers, Researchers, and Engineers to prioritize and structure the most impactful design work to deliver on user and business needs.
  • Iteratively define and design high quality solutions that solve complex user problems and drive business goals.
  • Bring designs to life through high-fidelity, development-ready mockups and realistic prototypes.
  • Develop and iterate a visual design system and UI libraries, and evolve our components to improve consistency, accessibility, reuse and extensibility across our platform.
  • Prioritize accessibility & simplicity, raising the bar on our accessibility standards. The patients who most need our therapy are often the individuals who may find them the hardest to use.
  • Document design history and standards for regulatory stakeholders, given the uniqueness of prescription software and the pioneering nature of clinical user experience.
  • Give and solicit design feedback to continually raise the bar for our products' design quality.
  • Be a champion for user-centered design methods and continuous design improvement, including testing low and high-fidelity prototypes, and collaborating with UXR to refine and validate your designs.
  • Partner with UXR to create and execute research plans that uncover core user needs, evaluate design concepts, and test product usability. -Translate research insights into new or improved UI designs that ensure our therapeutics satisfy real-world patient needs.
  • Contribute to a Product culture and process that prioritizes a 'ship it and learn' mindset and belief that perfect is the enemy of good.
  • Lead day-to-day collaboration with the Engineering team to facilitate design and dev handover, ensuring your quality designs turn into reality.
  • Closely collaborate with Engineering on early design concepts, refinements, and handover of final designs. Work to ensure designs are reviewed early and often with our partners in Engineering so that design intent is realistic and implementable.
  • Generate detailed final design specs that inspire accurate developer implementation. Actively participate in the agile development process as the owner of a UI/UX design backlog and "visual requirements" for any stories that involve UI or interaction flow. What we hope you will bring:
    • 4-6 years of experience in UI and UX design for mobile (iOS & Android) and desktop design with a portfolio of sample work.
    • Proficiency in Information Architecture (navigation schemes, understandable grouping, structuring, and labeling) and UX Writing (text that guides the user through the experience, error messaging).
    • Highly experienced with Figma or other design and prototyping software (e.g., Qt, Sketch, Axure, Invision, Illustrator, Adobe XD).
    • Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth environment. -Comfort making visual design decisions to evolve wireframes into a finished product.
    • Experience with universal design or design for disability.
    • Experience working in an Agile software development process.------
    • Demonstrable experience moving UI designs through the product development lifecycle from earliest concept to commercial release. -Experience planning and executing on user interviews and testing, with guidance and support from UXR.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
