Recovery Services Admission Representative

Summary Maine Behavioral Health, supporting the admissions to
Maine Medical Department of Outpatient Psychiatry on Vaughn Street
in Portland, is actively seeking an admissions representative to
support the checking in on patients at the front desk. Additional
tasks may include insurance verifications as well as assisting
scheduling appointments through virtual tools such as Microsoft
Teams or Zoom.
This is a full time, 40 hour opportunity, Monday through Friday,
with flexible schedules coordinated between team members beginning
between 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Join this team of 15 members as they support the Recover Services
of Maine Behavioral Health and Maine Medical Center.
The Admissions Representative - Recovery Services pre-admits and
admits all admissions to Maine Medical Center Department of
Outpatient Psychiatry. He/She serves as the important first contact
for patients. The Admissions Representative determines insurance
coverage, eligibility, and performs required pre-authorization
procedures. He/She ensures the accuracy of the patient's medical
record number and accuracy of demographic, financial and insurance
information to maintain the integrity of the billing system. The
Admissions Representative registers clients and scheduled follow-up
visits, collects co-payments, and maintains releases of
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: 1+ years in a customer service experience required.
6 months+ of receptionist experience in a health care setting
- Knowledge of 3rd party insurance practices, managed care
principles, as well as billing and regulatory requirements
