Position Summary:

The NEW Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders is seeking passionate and dedicated Ed Tech III's to join the growing team in the K-12 Day Treatment Program!

The Ed Tech III will provide individualized instruction and behavioral support for children and adolescents 5-22 years old, to achieve communication, play, socialization, self-care, cognitive, behavior and motor goals of students in accordance with the Individual Treatment Plan, IEP and/or Positive Behavior Support Plan utilizing the tools of applied behavior analysis (ABA).

Our K-12 program provides year-round, integrated, intensive services for children and adolescents with autism or intellectual disability who are not succeeding in their current school setting due to emotional or behavioral challenges. Services are provided in an educational setting that prepares the child to successfully return to their home school.

**Current MaineHealth employees not eligible for the sign on bonus. Must be separated from MaineHealth system for 3 months to be eligible. Sign on bonus is paid out in 3 equal payments; 1st paycheck, at 6 months and final payment at 12 months. Tuition Reimbursement is available to employees after 6 months of employment.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)


  • High School diploma with a minimum of 90 college credit hours required for certification as an Education Technician III from the Maine Department of Education. We will assist you in obtaining the Ed Tech certification.
  • 1+ year of experience working with children or youth with developmental disorders, mental health disorders, and/or behavior problems in school, hospital, or residential setting
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide education and care to student patients through the formative years (ages 5 - 20) with consideration of variable cognitive abilities, human development stages, and cultural patterns
  • Willing and able to learn and appropriately apply physical restraint for the purpose of maintaining the safety of students and others.
  • Experience/interest in working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
  • Minimal level of proficiency in swimming in both shallow and deep water to secure safety of students in the event of an emergency
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in special education, early childhood or related field preferred.
  • DOE fingerprinting required. We will assist you with obtaining this.
