Our Admissions Coordinator will also learn to work as a caregiver
(if not already certified). Your occasional shifts as a caregiver
will help support the clinical team during times of need. This
experience will also help to inform your discussions with incoming
residents.
CRMAs with experience would do very well in this position.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Coordinator will work to maintain occupancy goals by
utilizing effective marketing and communication strategies. You
will review the applications of referrals and new admissions, and
collaborate with respective departments to ensure the facility
culture supports a cohesive environment.
In addition, you will be responsible to maintain a connection with,
and our facility's professional reputation through, your community
relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Responsible to oversee that the number and medical status of our
new residents, meets the budgeted census, case mix and compliance
standards.
* Implement strategies to assure effective admission process.
* Verify that documentation collected for new applicants, is
current, informative and efficient. Ensure effective communication
of referral information among key staff members.
* Review, identify and verify payment source. Prepare the medical
record for admission and follow the new resident/admission through
the completion of the admission contract.
* Act as the facility's contact with the applicant's family and/or
physician. Answering questions, giving guidance and giving
occasional tours to those considering moving to PCAL.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge regarding acceptable methods of
payment. With particular attention required regarding Maine Care
and Medicare recipients and applicable regulations.
SKILLS
* Knowledge and understanding of state rules and regulations
governing admissions in a Private Non-Medical Institution (PNMI)
home. (we can train)
* Knowledge of the normal aging process and an ability to identify
individual responses to aging. (some care-giving experience would
be helpful)
* Able to exercise independent judgment.
* Able to communicate messages, information, and directives clearly
in written and verbal form.
* Able to comprehend, supervise, and practice generally recognized
safety principles and practices.
* Able to work effectively with many distractions.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Associate's Degree in healthcare field preferred.
* One (1) to three (3) years Residential Care experience
preferred.
* Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving
record.
* Knowledge of industry specific software programs such as ECP is
preferred.
* Expertise in Maine Residential Care reimbursement, Case Mix and
MDP-RCA assessment management is a plus. (we will train)
