NORESCO is looking for a Plant Maintenance Manager to join our
growing team! The Plant Maintenance Manager will be responsible for
maintenance activities at electric and thermal production
facilities owned by NORESCO's clients. They will be responsible for
supervising NORESCO's maintenance technician and subcontracted
maintenance personnel in support of the Naval Submarine Base New
London (NLON) in Groton, Connecticut. They will assure that the
facility meets its contractual performance, availability, and
customer savings guarantees while remaining in compliance with
applicable safety, environmental, and corporate requirements. The
Plant Maintenance Manager will work onsite at NLON.
Primary Responsibilities:
- NORESCO's primary point of contact to liaise with customer
personnel and coordinate third-party contractors providing direct
maintenance support
- Lead NORESCO's plant maintenance technician in the daily
maintenance of the equipment, which includes one steam boiler, two
natural gas fired reciprocating engines/electrical power generators
(ENG/GEN sets), two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), two
high pressure air compressors (HPACs), and all supporting Balance
of Plant (BOP) equipment and systems
- Prepare, maintain, and update job plans for planned tasks
- Ensure preventive maintenance services are scheduled and
executed per the OEM's designated intervals and standards
- Identify and procure resources required for planned tasks such
as parts, tooling, equipment, materials, and work procedures
- Manage project Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) programs
to comply with regulations and corporate/client policies and keep
the project in safe reliable operating condition; ensure compliance
during daily operations and maintenance work
- Review operations logs and performance data to monitor
equipment conditions and identify issues with the operation of the
system (critical trend analysis); promptly address leading
indicators of potential equipment failures
- Review information from oil samples, component operating hour
data, operating reports and recommended OEM suppliers' component
replacement guidelines, to propose and schedule proactive
maintenance and component replacement
- Review field service reports from NORESCO's subcontractors.
Ensure observations and recommendations are evaluated and tracked
to resolution.
- Monitor all warranty programs. Ensure warranty work is claimed
in a timely manner and all warranty issues are resolved.
- Maintain the site's document retention (ensure storage on
NORESCO's share drives)
- Develop critical path plans and execute efficient periodic
maintenance outages, to include coordination with NORESCO's clients
and subcontractors
- Coordinate and manage contracted resources and schedules during
scheduled and unplanned maintenance work. Coordinate NORESCO
managed activities with site owner's management.
- Lead regular meetings to review daily and weekly work
schedules
- Maintain good customer relations
- Coordinate with multiple NORESCO business units as needed (to
include Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Measurement &
Verification, and IT/Cybersecurity)
- Generate site owner meeting agendas and minutes; lead efficient
and productive update meetings (periodic & emergent)
- Perform plant inspections and safety walkthroughs daily and
during maintenance periods
- Maintain onsite inventories (tools, test equipment, materials,
critical spares, ...); replenish as needed
- Profit and Loss (P&L) Responsibilities, to include
generating the annual budget; capital expenditure planning; monthly
forecasts, accruals, and variance analysis with development of
recovery plans as needed to deliver the target revenue and profit;
review service agreements/proposals; generate purchase orders;
review and approve invoices
- Supervise the creation and updating of work orders in the
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), maintaining
accurate and complete records of work performed
- Use CMMS to generate reports, to include maintenance completion
reports, material history, and preventative maintenance
forecasts
- Maintain effective short and long-term maintenance planning and
scheduling
- Respond to the site after hours and/or on weekends as necessary
to lead restoration from emergent equipment failures
- Supervise and provide ongoing training for the plant
maintenance technician
- Assist in troubleshooting of the equipment to assess equipment
conditions and to determine corrective maintenance path to
restoration
- Capture lessons learned/best practices; contribute to
continuous improvement efforts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree OR High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of
experience as a maintenance supervisor/manager
- 3+ years of experience in electric power generation (turbines
and/or reciprocating engines)
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance management, planning, and
execution
- 3+ years of experience with safety related programs (LOTO,
HAZMAT/HAZWASTE, PPE, ...)
- Carry up to 50 pounds up and down multiple levels of
stairs
- Comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms
- Must be an US Citizen (per the requirements of the role)
- Driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical
discipline
- Experience with steam generation
- Experience with emissions compliance
- Experience as a technician on natural gas reciprocating
engines
- MBA or graduate degree
- OSHA 30 certification
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams
- Must pass drug testing, background checks, and security
checks
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Problem analysis, assessment, and remediation ability
- Working knowledge of balance of plant equipment (pumps, heat
exchangers, control systems, cooling systems, chemical injection
systems, ...)
- Experience leading emergent troubleshooting and restoration
efforts, while communicating status, way ahead, and expected
schedule to supervisors and/or clients
- Experience leading cross functional teams
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System
(CMMS)
- Customer relations experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills

Pay Range:
$92,856 - $130,206 Annually
