A K-12 school in Canton, MI is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support students' social, emotional, and mental health needs during the current school year on a contract basis. This role involves collaborating within the school community to provide comprehensive support for students and families. Location: Canton, MI (Onsite, Northern portion of Co-op to be discussed during interview) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch) Duration: Contract through May 22, 2026 Responsibilities: Work with individual students or groups in classroom, school, or community settings to address social and emotional challenges. Collaborate with principals, psychologists, teachers, and ancillary staff as part of student intervention teams. Provide consultation and support to parents, school personnel, and community agencies. Conduct in-service training sessions for school staff and parent education programs. Participate as a member of Individualized Educational Planning Teams (IEPT). Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers and stakeholders. Apply Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques when necessary. Maintain regular and predictable in-person attendance, adhering to work policies. Qualifications/Desired Experience: Valid Michigan Social Work (SW) license or MI 310 certification (applicants must provide proof). Experience working with K-12 students in school social work settings. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of social-emotional learning, mental health interventions, and crisis prevention.
